Members of the Tiger Golf Club (TGC) accorded a warm and heartfelt farewell to H.E. Park Young-Sik, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Bangladesh, at a gracious farewell program organized by the club on 23 December 2025 at the Sheraton Hotel, Dhaka. The evening concluded with a sumptuous dinner followed by lively raffle draws.
The farewell program was attended by ambassadors, diplomats, members of the Tiger Golf Club, and respected spouses, creating an atmosphere filled with warmth, camaraderie, and reflection. Participants fondly recalled the memorable moments shared with His Excellency on the golf course, in diplomatic engagements, and beyond.
The proceedings began with remarks from TGC member Nasim Majumder.
TGC Vice President Brigadier General Manzur Qader (Retd.) highlighted Ambassador Park’s wide-ranging involvement across various sectors and his deep appreciation of Bangladesh’s regional cultures and rich heritage. He also spoke warmly of the Ambassador’s personal engagement with TGC members, emphasizing the strong interpersonal bonds he fostered—relationships that will be cherished for years to come.
He expressed sincere gratitude to His Excellency and requested him to remain connected with TGC wherever he may reside in the future.
Hafizur Rahman Khan, Director of TGC, recalled memories of His Excellency’s visit to Rajshahi, while Mohiuddin Monem, Director of TGC, thanked Ambassador Park for promoting a philosophy of humanity and goodwill among all those around him.
Sharing his reflections, H.E. Nguyen Cuong, Ambassador of Vietnam, expressed his expectation of receiving a similar farewell and spoke warmly of the distinguished tenure of Ambassador Park.
H.E. Haji Harris, Ambassador of Brunei Darussalam, conveyed his best wishes, praying for continued blessings and success for His Excellency during his stay in the Republic of Korea.
In his farewell address, H.E. Park Young-Sik expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the members of the Tiger Golf Club for the honor and the official farewell. He conveyed deep appreciation to the Government and people of Bangladesh for their warm acceptance over the past three years. Reflecting on his experiences, the Ambassador spoke fondly of the many Bangladeshi people and cultures he encountered, from the hill tracts in the north to the southern and western regions. He praised the country’s resilience, economic growth, and humanitarian progress.
The Ambassador also expressed special gratitude to the golfing community. Having taken up golf in 1995 and returning to the sport during his tenure in Bangladesh, he noted improvements in his skills and spoke of his enjoyment of the camaraderie with TGC members. He fondly recalled golfing events with Korean golfers and at venues such as the Korean EPZ Golf Course and the Bhatiary Golf Course.
Following the address, Brigadier General Manzur Quader (retd) thanked all members and spouses for attending the farewell dinner and invited everyone to enjoy the buffet. After the meal, a raffle draw was held, with many members winning prizes and taking photographs with the Ambassador.
The evening concluded on a joyful note, marked by warm memories and heartfelt farewells, though many members who could not attend were fondly remembered.
The organizers expressed sincere thanks to the Executive Committee members of the Tiger Golf Club, especially Vice President Manzur Quader and Directors Hafizur Rahman Khan, SM Rahman, QM Zahid, and Mohiuddin Monem, for their active participation in arranging the farewell dinner. Appreciation was also extended to all participants and spouses, as well as to the diplomats and Excellencies whose presence made the event colorful and distinguished.
